Cocker Spaniel Club in the SMSSTC

The Heart of Michigan English Cocker Spaniel Club was formed in 1959 as the Midwest English Cocker Spaniel Club. In 1964, the name was changed to the Heart of Michigan English Cocker Spaniel Club. It is the oldest continuously active regional specialty club for English Cockers in the country.

Most of the Clubs 49 members participate in conformation, obedience, agility, rally, and tracking events.

Several HMECSC members are also members of the SMSSTC and are active in field dog training, spaniel hunt tests, and Cocker field trials.

The HMECSC typically conducts a spring hunt test and a fall Cocker field trial. These events are supported by SMSSTC personnel whose involvement and dedication insure a professional and efficient field event.
