Southern Michigan Springer Spaniel Training Club

The SMSSTC would like to recognize some of the accomplishments/milestones of the dogs owned by club members.

2009

• October
  • FC AFC Royal Smarty, "Smarty" owned/handled by Kathy Nestor took Third in the Open at SMSSTC Field Trial. Kathy is also the first club member to win the Blanock Award (Best Amateur handler in the Open). Smarty becomes the first dog to win the award twice (last year with Lea Ames).
  • Woodbine Kaboom Boss "Rico" owned/handled by Mark A Gebert took 2nd in the Puppy Stake at the SMSSTC Field Trial.
  • North Bay's Hurricane  "Belle" Owned/Handled by Brandon Short took 2nd in the Amateur at the SMSSTC Field Trial.
  • Rives Felix "Felix" owned/handled by Tom Clark took 3rd in the Amateur at the SMSSTC Field Trial.
• September
  • Club Dogs Sweep 1st and 2nd in the flushing division at the Ruffed Grousse Society State Championships.

• May
  • Rockrivers Rambling Rose, "Rosie" owned/handled by Jeff Towler complete her Junior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
  • CH Blue Moon My Sweet Hemi RA TD JH NA NAJ NAP NJP "Hemi" owned/handled by Karen Schwager completed his Junior Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test .
  • Lighthouse Ricochet Rabbit JH, "Lucky", owned by Inge Ferguson and handled by Mark A Gebert completed his Senior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.

  • Club Dogs Sweep the placements in the flushing division at the Ruffed Grousse Society Fun Hunt.

• February
  • Blackbreer's Small Batch "Booker" owned/handled by Michael Pollack won the Puppy stake at the Heart of Texas Field Trial

2008

• November
  • Lighthouse's Gone Fishin "Pike" (Owner Mark Gebert, Handler Jason Givens) completed the National Open on his first attempt.
• October
  • Warreners Black Bellied Plover "Millie" (owner/handler John Skiba), placed 3rd in the Puppy Stake at both the SMSSTC trial and Great Lakes.
• May
  • Connemara's Indiana Sunrise "Indy" owned and handled by Mike Minnick completed his Junior Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.

2007

• October
  • Marichase's Halle Bear "Halle" owned and handled by Toni van Dongen finished 4th in the Amateur at the SMSSTC Field Trial.
• September
  • Marichase's Apple of My Eye "Newton" owned and handled by Mary Barna completed his Senior Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
  • Lighthouse Pacific's First "Traz" owned and handled by Mark A Gebert completed his Senior Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
  • Saracen Glory Bound, "Blaze", owned and handled by Ann Clements completed her Senior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
• August
  • The following dogs handled by Dick Dixon completed titles at the Fox Valley English Cocker Spaniel Club Hunt Test. FC Bramblewood Marshbank's ERA, SH, "Koby" achieved his Master Hunter title, Marshbank's Straight Flush "Jean" and Marshbank's Royal Flush "Ruby" achieved their Junoir Hunter titles.

  • Springville Nebraskas Ned, "Ned" owned and handled by Bob Falerios, completed his Junior Hunter Title at the CSCA Hunt Test.
  • Little Brownies Violet Flame, "Violet" owned by Paul & Lynn Morrison and handled by Paul Morrison, completed her Junior Hunter Title at the CSCA Hunt Test.
  • Kalamazoo's Waldo Girl, "Kzoo" owned and handled by Scott Schindler, completed her Junior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
  • Connemara Brit-O-Briar, "Brit" owned and handled by Mike Minnick, completed her Junior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.

2006

• December
  • Saracen Glory Bound, "Blaze", owned and handled by Ann Clements completed her Junior Hunter Title and earned a WDX Certificate at CGCSC Hunt Test.
• September
  • ThugsRUs Torrey Pines, "Torrey", owned and handled by Mark A Gebert completed his Senior Hunter Title at WESSA.
  • CH. Briarton's Deuce W/D Blu Yonder, "Deuce", owned and handled by Jamie Swenor completed his Junior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
  • Lighthouse Ricochet Rabbit, "Lucky", owned by Inge Ferguson and handled by Mark A Gebert completed his Junior Hunter Title at the SMSSTC Hunt Test.
• April
  • Bramblewood Marshbanks ERA, SH "Koby" Owned by Dick Dixon and Handled by Andrea & Ernie Hasse, won the Spaniel Association of Western New York Cocker Field Trial and received the Guns Award. This completed his Field Championship.
• March
  • North Bay's Hurricane  "Belle" Owned/Handled by Brandon Short won the Euclid Field Trial in the Amatuer.

2005

• October
  • North Bay's Hurricane  "Belle" Owned/Handled by Brandon Short won the SMSSTC Puppy Stakes.
  • Warreners Mountain Quail "Tweed" Owned/Handled by Andrea & Ernie Hasse, won two Field trials: Spaniel Association of Western New York and English Cocker Spaniel Club of America, Inc. Field Trial (She also received the Guns Award at this trial). With the 2 wins she is now a Field Champion.
  • Bramblewood Marshbanks ERA, SH "Koby" Owned by Dick Dixon and Handled by Andrea & Ernie Hasse, completed the National Cocker Championship and received an Award of Merit.
• July
  • Fogsvalleys Roustabout  "Rowdy" Owned by Mark Gebert completed his Field Championship after passing the Water Test West Allis (owner handled).
• May
  • King Me Checkerboard Square  "Checkers" Owned/Handled by Toni van Dugen completed his Junior Hunter Title.

2004

• October
  • Bramblewood Marshbanks ERA, SH "Koby" Owned by Dick Dixon and Handled by Andrea & Ernie Hasse, completed the National Cocker Championship and recieved an Award of Merit.

2003

• The following dogs owned by Mary Barna all completed their Senior Hunter titles:
